Namco invites players to return to the car racing excitement of THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS with this video game based on the upcoming movie, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: Tokyo Drift. The PS2 game features a storyline similar to the movies, although the two do differ on events and characters and are not directly connected. The game, as the movie title suggests, is all about drifting. THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS features new drift system that allows new gamers or veteran racers to drift around corners and along the track with ease. This is all thanks to the drift model system and the drift indicator. Players can turn on assists to help them out, or turn them all off and rely only on their expert driving skills to speed around the track. Players will be immersed in the racing world of Tokyo in the game as they follow characters from the movie while defeating numerous opponents on a variety of tracks. Besides racing in groups, there are also special boss challenges that players will have to overcome in order to advance. Between races, players can tune up their cars, adding over 500 licensed body kits from real racing companies. Gamers who loved the first THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS movie will enjoy seeing the characters return in both the game and the movie sequel its based on.
